For nearly two quarters, it looked like the San Antonio Spurs were on their way to evening the NBA Finals.

Then the New York Knicks authored a comeback for the ages.

Facing a 29-point deficit and a stunned Madison Square Garden crowd, the Knicks stormed back to defeat the Spurs 107-106 in Game 4 of the NBA Finals on Wednesday night. The victory not only gave New York a commanding 3-1 series lead, but it also marked the largest comeback in NBA Finals history.

The Spurs appeared unstoppable early. San Antonio’s offense was firing on all cylinders, jumping out to an early 12-2 lead. Buoyed by a record setting 14 three-pointers, the Spurs lead quuicky ballooned to over 20 points as they took a 76-49 hafltime lead. While the Spurs were rolling, the Knicks stumbled out of the gate, quickly falling behind by double digits. Karl-Anthony Towns was an unplanned fixture to the Knick bench, saddled with early foul trouble,

Instead, New York delivered one of the greatest second-half quickly ever seen on basketball’s biggest stage.

The Knicks began to show signs of life in the third quarter, outscoring the Spurs 26-14 in the frame and trimming the deficit to 90-75 heading into the game’s final period.

Leading the charge was All-NBA guard Jalen Brunson, who once again proved why he has become the face of the franchise. Brunson poured in 36 points while orchestrating the comeback with poise and confidence.

OG Anunoby provided the perfect complement, scoring 33 points and delivering the biggest play of the night. With the Knicks trailing by one in the closing seconds, Anunoby crashed the glass and converted a putback with just 1.2 seconds remaining, giving New York its first lead since the opening minutes.

The Garden erupted.

What had begun as a nightmare transformed into a celebration that will be remembered for generations in New York sports history.

While the Knicks surged, the Spurs unraveled. After scoring 76 points in the first half, San Antonio managed only 30 points after intermission as New York’s defense intensified and the momentum shifted dramatically.

The loss is a devastating blow for a Spurs team that appeared firmly in control of the series less than 24 hours ago. Instead, San Antonio now faces elimination and must win three consecutive games to prevent New York from capturing its first NBA championship since 1973.

For the Knicks, the dream is suddenly within reach.

One more victory would end a 53-year championship drought and cement this team among the most beloved squads in franchise history.

After Wednesday night’s historic rally, New York is now just one win away from basketball immortality.

What was going through your mind when the Knicks were down 29 points? Did you believe they could pull it off, or did this comeback completely shock you?
